Bottega Veneta Opens a Modernist-Inspired Intrecciato Pop-Up at Harrods

A Celebration of 50 Years of Weaving Tradition

Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta has opened a temporary pop-up boutique on the ground floor of Harrods in London to mark the 50th anniversary of its iconic Intrecciato weave. Launched in 1975, this signature technique has come to define the brand’s understated elegance and artisanal heritage.

Architectural Concept: Concrete Meets Walnut

Designed with a nod to modernist architecture, the interior features a striking interplay of concrete and Italian walnut, forming interconnected structural elements and custom furnishings. The centerpiece is La Tavola, a generous table inspired by the brand’s workshop benches. It functions both as a display platform and as a symbol of community and craftsmanship.

A Glimpse into the Crafting Process

Displayed on La Tavola are Intrecciato handbags, wallets, and even dog-shaped leather charms. Some are intentionally left unfinished to invite closer appreciation of the weaving technique. Pull-out drawers house materials used in Intrecciato, encouraging tactile engagement with the craft.

Immersive Furnishings and Exclusive Fashion

The pop-up includes massive black leather armchairs that amplify the Intrecciato pattern, rendered in jumbo scale. Visitors can explore an exclusive collection of ready-to-wear and accessories in an emerald hue—a subtle nod to Harrods’ signature color palette. Photography from the “Craft is Our Language” campaign by Jack Davison adorns the walls, reinforcing the brand’s dedication to handcraft and connection.
